About MyStrongPassword.

Practical password tools and explanations, available in English and French, without creating an account.

What you can do here

Create random passwords and passphrases, estimate password strength, make a printable Wi-Fi guest card or prepare a team password policy. Each tool explains what its result means and where its limits are.

The Wi-Fi card designer adds a name, logo and welcome message to connection details you supply. It does not change your router settings. The policy generator produces a starting document and scripts that you review and test before deployment.

What runs on your device

Password generation uses the browser’s Web Crypto random-number API. Strength estimates, Wi-Fi QR codes, uploaded logos and policy exports are processed in the browser; these tool inputs are not uploaded to MyStrongPassword.

The breach checker needs an internet connection. It hashes the submitted password locally and sends the first five hexadecimal characters of that hash to Have I Been Pwned’s Pwned Passwords API. The comparison with the returned candidates happens locally. This reduces what is disclosed; it is not a promise of complete anonymity.

The site requests Google Analytics only after consent. Usage events describe actions such as downloading a card or opening an associated tool, without including passwords, network names, logos or policy text. Read the privacy policy for details and cookie controls.

How our guides are prepared

Articles are published under the MyStrongPassword name. We use AI assistance for drafting, translation and code work. Our preparation includes checking linked primary sources, comparing instructions with the current tool and testing relevant changes before publication.

For news, we distinguish the event date from the date an organization published an alert. Technical examples use fictional credentials. Changes to a guide’s instructions or conclusions receive an updated date; routine site builds do not make every article new.

Sources and assumptions matter: a crack-time estimate depends on the guessing model and attack rate, and a generated policy is not a compliance certification. Product and standards documentation should guide decisions specific to your environment.
